About Us:
Enchanting Yorkipoos healthy yorkipoos breed from health tested parents. I will provide you with a one-year genetic health guarantee and all my puppies come with a written vet examination.
Additionally, each of my puppies and dogs are up to date on their shots/vaccinations and dewormed (preventative treatment).
All of my dogs and puppies are family pets born and raise in home.
They are not meant to be kept outside for long periods of time. All of our adults live with me and family members so they can be part of a loving family.
I believe this is very important for the the health and happiness of my fur babies and their babies as well.
About Yorkipoos & Maltipoos
Yorkipoos are active and energetic. Companion dogs. Easy to train. When they are full grown they tend to range from 5-12 pounds. Loves to be with people and they are family-oriented. They do very well with children, but due to their small size they should be supervised with smaller children. Life span ranges from 12-15 years. Very intelligent, affectionate, and gentle. Non-shedding and hypoallergenic. Has been seen to be an effective therapy dog.
They are very adaptable and good with other pets, but whether the other pets will be okay with the new puppy is another story. Also, they are very playful and will try to play with them. First generation, which means that they are from a purebred yorkie and a purebred poodle. Do not need a lot of exercise. Therefore, as you can see the maltipoos and yorkipoos are VERY similar.
Maltipoos are very similar to the Yorkipoos. Friendly, outgoing, gentle and loving dogs. Companion dogs. Non-shedding and hypoallergenic. They are clever and easy to train.
They are inside dogs and family oriented. When they are full grown they can range from 5-12 pounds. They are first generation, which means that we breed a purebred Maltese with a purebred Poodle. Their average life span ranges from 12-16 years. They do very well with children but due to their small size they should be supervised with smaller children.
They are very adaptable and good with other pets, but whether the other pets will be okay with the new puppy is another story. They do not need a lot of exercise. Therefore, they are great companions for a small apartment and/or a large plantation.
Purchasing Information
When my puppies become ready to go to their new homes, they tend to go pretty fast. Therefore, I accept a $200 deposit to hold a puppy. The deposit comes out of the purchasing price and it is non-refundable. The deposit is $200 and this will hold the puppy for you until you can pick him/her up. If you decide that you want a different puppy then the one you put a deposit on, you can switch your deposit to another puppy as long as that puppy is still available. We accept deposits through Good Dog, as well as Credit and debit.Place a deposit
Puppies will come with up to date health records, puppy food, Registration if requested, vet check up via Dr. Mary Ives and a Health Guarantee. We only breed first generation which means both parents are pure breed akc poodles and yorkies. Payments are accepted via credit, debit, and cash. Health Tips:
Juvenile Hypoglycemia - Preventing a sugar drop in small puppies:
It is very common for small puppies to have a sugar drop. Therefore, I like to inform people how to prevent this from happening.
About: A sugar drop can happen to any puppy under 3 months, but especially the smaller puppies. Young puppies have not fully developed the ability to regulate their sugar (glucose), which is important for their tiny bodies to get the energy they need in order to function like the adorable puppy that you love so much. The symptoms associated with a sugar drop include: disorientation, will not eat or drink, excessive sleeping, weakness, and if the problem gets worse it could cause seizures, tremors, and/or a coma.
Prevention: A well balanced diet is important. Small puppies should also eat before they do a lot of playing and eat as often as possible. Along with their regular dry dog food you can offer some wet puppy food. "DocRoy's Forti Cal Gel." is an excellent way to make sure your small puppy gets enough of the glucose they need. Also, once they get a taste of it.. they absolutely LOVE it. Make sure not to use too much though, a small dab of it on your finger about four times a day should do it. You could also use it for a training tool since they love it so much. As long as you use these precautions, you should not have a single problem. These add-ons to his/her diet can be taken away after the puppy has grown some and adjusted to his/her new home.
Unpacking the Myth of the Grain Free Diet:
A year after the FDA warned about “grain free” diets possibly being linked to canine dilated cardiomyopathy, they have gone a step further and have identified 16 brands to be associated with the disease. While FDA is not calling for a complete stop in the use of said brands, many vets are suggesting to move away from grain free brands that don’t meet nutritional standards. With all this controversy surrounding it, we wanted to share some facts that every pet owner should consider before taking a side.
The History:
One of the arguments supporting grain free diets for dogs is the fact that wolves, the ancestors of dogs, don’t eat grains in the wild. However, dogs aren’t wolves, they’re dogs, and that over time they have evolved to be able to consume grains and carbohydrates through living alongside humans. The real reason grain free diets for dogs have become so popular is not because they’re necessary, but because they’re easy to market.
The Science:
Not all grain-free diets are created equal, and this seems to be the source of the problem. Many brands that sell grain-free dog foods are replacing nutrient-dense meats with plant-based proteins like potatoes, which are an inadequate substitute for real meat. When you feed your dog grain free food, it usually ends up having more fats and more complex carbohydrates from those replacement ingredients like potatoes and lentils, which leads to your dog gaining weight over time.
The other issue at the heart of the grain-free debate is taurine, an amino acid found only in animal tissue, which plays a vital role in maintaining cardiac functions in dogs. Since many grain-free dog foods are using these real meat alternatives, dogs aren’t receiving the proper protein to produce the taurine they need. This isn’t the case with fresh diets, where whole, quality meats are a sufficient source of taurine.
The Effects:
Along with causing weight gain, low quality grain free diets may actually contribute to dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and other types of heart disease. There are over 500 grain free dog food brands that are currently being investigated by the FDA for their effect on DCM in dogs, and the FDA has recently released their first list of brands to be directly linked to the disease. While the FDA hasn’t mandated for owners to change their pets diets, they do warn against food that contains lots of lentils, peas, and potatoes, and not enough meats.
